Herbal Medicine, for me, can be divided into two areas. Western and Chinese.
WESTERN HERBS
Herbal Medicine is an extreme passion of mine, and I have been fortunate enough to be taught and mentored by several very intelligent, compassionate and experienced human beings. I have studied herbs inside out for years now. I feel as if I have barely scratched the surface. However, I feel as if I have barely scratched the surface. I never hesitate to ask those above me, in a close knit community, when I have questions.
I have found herbs to be particularly effective in conjunction with other therapies. I do not talk about herbs as stand-alone treatments, because I do not believe that they are. But they are simply amazing at alleviating so many symptoms, when used in conjunction with other modalities.
Covid, cancer recovery, chronic illness, depression and behavior, all are so much easier to manage with western herbs.
HOWEVER -they are not something that should be taken lightly. Herbs used in combinations that are not wise, can cause serious illness, injury and even death.
CHINESE HERBS
As stated in other areas, I have practiced martial arts all of my adult life. I am versed in some Tai Chi and learned some kung fu techniques known as “Iron Palm” several years back. It is pretty intense conditioning program that makes one's hands very strong, and you can break coconuts with your bare hands.
Yes, my wife puts up with this every day of her life.
Every.
Single.
Day.
But come on - I broke a coconut, that is freakin’ awesome! Yeah, I am a five year old. I admit this. But I am five year old who broke a coconut with his bare palm!
There is a point to this. Iron Palm training required a lot of Chinese Liniments, two of which were called Iron Palm Liniment and Dit Da Jow.
Dit Da Jow, is simply amazing at literally making pain and bruising disappear. I brew it myself, and it is the single thing you will find from me that is expensive. I only sell it to people I know. It is a very high quality blend that is the fruit of a lot of trial and error!
